    Manhattan standoff ends

    Update June 29 12:30 PM:
    An investigation for a Riley County man is ongoing for aggravated assault, battery and criminal use of a weapon.
    Police say the incident started at 510  Colorado Street around 2:15 AM Saturday.
    Police believe the man had brandished a firearm in a threatening manner.
    Officers notified nearby residents after the man barricaded himself inside a home he had legal access to.
    Several hours later he exited the home and was arrested without incident.
    Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation no further information has been released.

    A man at the center of a standoff overnight in Manhattan is now in custody.

    Riley County Police say the incident started around 2:15 AM at 510 Colorado Street.

    Police say the suspect was potentially dangerous to the community and had barricaded himself inside his home.

    Officers surrounded the perimeter and notified nearby residents who were potentially in danger.

     Police issued a Nextdoor.com urgent alert to the surrounding neighborhood as well.

    Out of an abundance of caution the RCPD Emergency Response Unit Tactical Team was activated with resources provided by the Junction City Police Department.

    At approximately 6:15 AM Saturday, the suspect exited his home.

    He was taken into custody without any further incident.

    At the time of this release no further information was available as this investigation is ongoing.
