A Topeka man accused in an alleged plot at Fort Riley a few months ago was given an addition 30 days to review evidence in a hearing in U-S Court Monday, with discovery process discussion. According to James Cross, Public Information Officer for U-S Attorney Barry Grissom, John T. Booker Jr.’s next hearing is August 19th for motions hearing and a status conference.
This past Friday it was announced Booker waived his right to appear Monday at a case hearing.
Booker faces charges in connection with driving a vehicle loaded with what he thought were explosives to Fort Riley. Booker has pleaded not guilty to charges which include attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting to damage property by means of an explosive, and attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State.
