    IMAX Coming to Manhattan

By KMAN Staff on July 8, 2015 Local News, Manhattan

IMAX and Carmike Cinemas have announced plans to expand their revenue sharing agreement to three new cities, including Manhattan.

The popular viewing experience will be added to existing theaters in Missoula and Billings, Montana, while the IMAX website states the third theater system will be “added to a new construction project in Manhattan.”

While not confirmed, rumors have been circulating for several months that a new movie theater would move into the old Sears location in Manhattan Town Center. KMAN has been closely monitoring the situation since January, but nothing has been officially announced by mall officials or the city of Manhattan.

However, on Tuesday’s In Focus, City Manager, Ron Fehr said staff got an update call Monday regarding a potential tenant and added that negotiations are “still working”.

KMAN will keep close tabs on the situation and bring you an update as soon as we learn more.
