A 55-year-old man convicted in connection with a Riley County rape more than 30 years ago has been passed over for parole. Roderick Fields also has been serving time for an aggravated robbery in Sedgwick County that occurred in 1993.
Fields had been up for public comment sessions earlier this year, but a status update by the Kansas Department of Corrections indicates his earliest possible release date is now July of 2020.
Fields is currently being held at Lansing.
