Your chance to donate unwanted furniture is coming.

Furniture Amnesty Day is July 24.

    Acceptable furniture
Acceptable donations include sofas, recliners, chairs, tables, mattresses, lamps, entertainment centers, dressers, etc. We will not accept appliances, electronics, TVs, pianos and grills.

    Furniture drop-off
You can drop off unwanted but still usable furniture from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 24 at Baker Field in Manhattan City Park, 1101 Fremont St. Volunteers will be available to assist with unloading the furniture.

    Furniture pickup
If you’d like your unwanted furniture picked up on the day of the event, sign up online or call 785-587-2404 with a description of your items. A limited number of pickup times is available, so sign up early. Pickup is only available within Manhattan city limits.

    Selecting furniture
The furniture collected will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Time slot assignment begins at 8 a.m. and will last until all slots are filled. Time slots are available from noon to 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., anyone can select from the furniture that is left.
