Riley County Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire at 428 Ninth Street in Ogden shortly after 5:30 a.m. Sunday. County Fire Chief Pat Collins tells KMAN the mobile home in the Maplewind Mobile Home Park was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
The home had been abandoned several years ago, with the last known owner having the last name of Moss. Damage is estimated at $8,000-$10,000 to an occupied mobile home, car, and outbuilding next door. The Manhattan Fire Department and Fort Riley Firefighters assisted.
Cause of the fire has not yet been determined, although Collins says investigators are leaning toward fireworks as there was no electric or gas service.
