    The Riley County Police Department filed a report for aggravated battery and battery in the 1000 block of Yuma Street Saturday morning at about 12:35 AM. Officers were dispatched to a report of a fight in progress and once on scene witnessed several subjects fleeing on bicycles.
    Police found two subjects who had received injury and both were transported for medical evaluation.  Dewuan Shorter, 20, of Manhattan received injury to his hand from a folding pocket knife and Anthony Shehan, 44, of Manhattan received injury consistent with a physical altercation.
    After initial investigation probable cause was developed and an arrest was made at approximately 4:20 AM. Police arrested Shehan for aggravated battery and battery with a bond of $10,000.  Police believe this incident to be isolated between two parties and continue to investigate the matter.

    A 22-year-old Wamego man faces aggravated battery and battery charges following his arrest early Sunday morning. Deveraux Dumas was taken into custody at approximately 1:25 AM while at the Riley County Police Department.He was given a bond of $5,000 as a result of a warrant stemming from an investigation beginning in May of this year.

    Arrested on a warrant for failure to appear with the original offense of battery was Glenn Bennett Jr., 18, of Manhattan. Bennett was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department Sunday night shortly before 11. He was given a bond of $6,000.

    A Manhattan woman remains hospitalized following a Friday evening accident.  Teresa Adams, 61, was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, following the two vehicle collision near the intersection of Marlatt Avenue and Seth Child Road at approximately 5:30 PM.According to Monday’s activity report, Officers on the scene found that a 2007 Saturn Aura, driven by Clayton Kaminsky, 19, of Manhattan, struck a ’97 Dodge Caravan which was being driven by Douglas Stevens, 67, of Frankfort.

    The collision reportedly occurred as Kaminsky attempted to turn south onto Seth Child from westbound Marlatt. Riley County EMS transported Stevens and Adams, who was passenger in his vehicle, to Via Christi Hospital for complaint of pain to the midsection.

    Kaminski was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

    Riley County Police are investigating a theft in the 2100 block of Meadowlark Road in Manhattan after a report that a 2000 silver Dodge Grand Caravan was stolen from the area.
    The victim listed on the report was Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community and the van was estimated to be worth approximately $2,000. This vehicle was located over the weekend by officers in the Manhattan area.
    Officers continue to investigate the matter and ask that anyone with information contact police.

    Officers with the Riley County Police Department Saturday evening met with a now 15-year-old male regarding a report of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
    This crime allegedly occurred between 2009 and 2012 in the State of Oklahoma and a suspect is currently listed as being an 18-year-old male known to the victim. The out-of-jurisdiction report will be forward to local authorities for further investigation.

    Riley County Police Officers are investigating a report of rape between two persons known to each other. This crime is said to have occurred in May of this year in the southwestern portion of Manhattan.
    The investigation includes a female victim who is 27 years of age and a male suspect who is 26-years-old. Due to the nature of this investigation no further information has been released.

    About $1500 of loss and criminal damage to property at the Northview Pool on Griffith Drive is being investigated by Riley County Police. the incident was reported Sunday at about 9:30 AM, with the  incident apparently occurring the prior night.
    Approximately $500 worth of candy and drinks were removed from the property by unknown suspect(s). While committing this crime suspect(s) also damaged a window creating approximately $1,000 worth of needed repair.

    The Riley County Fair will begin on Thursday of this week and Riley County Police officers will staff a booth at the fair grounds and will be giving away coloring books supplied by the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office out of Topeka. Other items and displays may also been available from 5:00-9:00 PM each day.
