ABC Channel 7 in Chicago has reported that 22-year-old K-State student Briona White was shot and killed Thursday night in Chicago’s Far South Side.
She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, where she later died after her and a 20-year-old man she was with was shot at more than a dozen times, police said.
The young man, who police report was a gang member recently out of jail for an armed robbery conviction, died at the scene. His family, though, disputes the charge.
White was studying to be an orthodontist.
A Cook County medical examiner ledger obtained by KMAN lists the death as a homicide and cause due to “multiple gunshot wounds.”
Police continue to investigate with no one in custody.
