Ray’s Apple Market on Anderson Avenue in Manhattan is closing. Manager Rob Floersch confirmed the closure Wednesday afternoon and tells KMAN employees have just been notified. Floersch declined further comment at this time.
Another Ray’s Apple Market located in downtown Manhattan on North Sixth Street closed in March of 2014. It was announced at that time that some of the employees were being transferred to the store’s west location at 3007 Anderson.
Also at that time, owners indicated neighborhood support, but admitted business had diminished with changes in Manhattan and a significant change in the retail landscape.
Information about exactly when the Manhattan store will close is not yet available. Ray’s Apple Market still has grocery stores in other locations including Clay Center.
