Riley County Police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from several months ago. Thursday’s Riley County Police Activity reports indicates between April 22nd and 27th 34 year old Desie Chatfield, 34, of Manhattan was a victim to a vehicle theft when his 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee was taken from the 6000 block of Tuttle Terrace in Manhattan.
The vehicle also had stereo equipment inside making the total estimated loss of $4,325. Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating the crime and ask anyone with information to contact the Riley County Police Department directly or use the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers service.

A DUI Saturation Patrol is planned this coming weekend. On Saturday the Riley County Police Department will conduct the Patrol. Officers involved in the Saturation Patrol will be looking for signs of impaired driving and other traffic violations. Motorists who show signs of alcohol and/or drug consumption will be evaluated and appropriate enforcement action will be taken.The purpose of this program is to place additional officers in and around the Manhattan area with the goal of detecting and deterring impaired driving.This patrol is the third, in a series of seven, which will be conducted this year. The Kansas Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Project provides the funding for the Saturation Patrol.
