    RCPD Report – 8/20/2015

    rcpdwebsiteOfficers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Severiano Berriozbal, 34, of Manhattan on Wednesday – while in the block of 2500 Farm Bureau Road in Manhattan. Berriozbal was arrested for the offenses of driving under the influence, duty to report accident with unattended vehicle, refusal of chemical test, and driving while suspended. Berriozbal was issued a bond of $8,500.00 and he was released.

    45-year-old Barbra Flores of Manhattan fell victim to theft when two chainsaws and a weed eater, estimated to be worth $1,560.00, were taken from her residence in the 1300 block of Temple Lane between August 5th and 19th. RCPD officers are investigating this crime and ask that anyone with information contact the department directly or use the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers service.

    Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. in Manhattan, on Wednesday evening. Patricia Strong, 71, of Manhattan was driving her 2013 Ford Focus when she failed to yield at a stop sign traveling west out of a private driveway. Terasa Hanson, 58, of Clay Center, Kansas collided with Strong while traveling north bound on Tuttle Creek Blvd. in her 1998 Mercury Sable. Both of the vehicles were towed and Strong was transported to Via Christi Hospital by Riley County Emergency Medical Services.

    As KMAN previously reported, Riley County Police confirmed the north bound lane was closed to traffic for a little more than an hour, as a result of the accident.

    Joshua Williams, 26, of Manhattan was arrested on a warrant for motion to revoke probation or parole on Wednesday night while in the 400 block of Fort Riley Blvd. in Manhattan. Williams was given a bond of $5,000.00 and was released.
