    Riley County Police arrested an individual listed on the RCPD most wanted list over the weekend.

    Early Saturday morning  Michael Vassar, 41, was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department.

    Vassar was taken into custody on 3 counts of failure to appear on charges that include a DUI…refusal of a breathalyzer test…and driving while suspended.

    Vassar is being held on an $8,000.

    Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a report of motor vehicle theft in the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard. Police found Michael Lauber, 23, of Manhattan had his vehicle stolen from his property.
    The vehicle valued at approximately $7,500 is a gray 2002 Ford Truck with Kansas plates and several decals on the back window including a confederate flag, a buck, and a cowboy star. Anyone with information on this vehicle is asked to contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

    The Riley County Police Department is investigating a couple of burglary reports involving a Leonardville man’s property. One case allegedly occurred in the 13,000 block of Crooked Creek Road in Leonardville Saturday morning at approximately 9:45 AM. Officers filing the report found Barton Anstaett, 43,  of Leonardville became the victim of this crime when a listed suspect removed firearm accessories and parts from his home. The total estimated loss in that case was $520, with the crime thought to have occurred between the 27th and 31st of last month.

    And another report of burglary involving Anstaett was also filed with the Riley County Police Department Sunday. That case reportedly occurred in the 7800 block of Marie Lane in Manhattan at approximately 6:00 PM. Police a found that a variety of tools and an antique gun were removed from a home belonging to Anstaett. The total estimated loss for this second investigation was listed as being $2,194.
