I-70 Closed in Topeka

#TOPEKATRAFFIC ALERT As of 2:30 PM TODAY, Tuesday, September 8 , all lanes of eastbound and westbound I-70 from U.S. 75 to MacVicar Avenue (Topeka) NOW REOPNING to all traffic!

Suspicious package has been cleared from the interstate and the roadway is being returned to normal traffic operations. For the safety of the traveling public, the entire interstate was shut down in both directions. Expect some minor delays as traffic resumes normal traffic operations.

#TOPEKATRAFFIC ALERT As of 1:10 PM TODAY, Tuesday, September 8 , all lanes of eastbound and westbound I-70 from U.S. 75 to MacVicar Avenue (Topeka) NOW CLOSED to traffic due to suspicious package on the interstate. For the safety of the traveling public, the entire interstate has been shut down both directions.

 

Eastbound I-70 traffic will detour via northbound U.S. 75 to eastbound U.S. 24 to southbound K-4 to access I-70. Westbound I-70 traffic will detour via southbound MacVicar Avenue to westbound 6th Street to northbound Fairlawn Road to access I-70.

 

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. We will let you know when the roadway is reopened to all traffic.
