RCPD vehicles (better) 6-15
An injury accident early Saturday morning led to a severe head injury for a Manhattan teenager, according to information released Monday morning. Kishankumar Vaghasia, 19, who was a passenger in the vehicle involved and was transported to Topeka for medical care.
In connection with the accident Riley County Police announced Monday they are investigating an aggravated battery, DUI, reckless driving, and minor in consumption incident which occurred in the 2300 block of Deep Creek Road outside of Manhattan Saturday at approximately 1:00 AM. Police responded to the single vehicle collision with injuries and determined that alcohol could have played a factor.
The vehicle involved was a 2011 BMW X3. Police continue to investigate the matter and due to the ongoing nature of this investigation no further information was available at the time of this report. No arrests have been made.

More details were released Monday regarding a Riley County Police report for aggravated assault and criminal trespass filed in the 2200 block of College Avenue at about 4:20 PM Saturday. Once on scene officers found that an incident occurred prior to their arrival which included the brandishing of a handgun during a verbal argument.

Ahmed Alkhraissi, 28, of Manhattan was listed as the victim in the aggravated assault. Police listed Michael Fuchs, 19, of Manhattan the victim of criminal trespass. However as announced earlier by KMAN, Riley County Police arrested Fuchs for the offense of aggravated assault as well as a warrant for failure to appear, with a bond of $10,170.

Police in Riley County responded to the report of a female with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound to the torso Friday at approximately 10:40 AM. Monday’s RCPD activity report indicates once on scene in the 3000 block of Kimball Avenue, police found that Kathy Snyder, 59, of Manhattan was deceased.
Next of kin notification was made later Friday. Police officials do not suspect foul play to be a factor in this death.

Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for theft after being told about a riding lawn mower that was removed from the backyard of 1001 Humboldt Street in Manhattan. This riding lawn mower is described as an Areins 46” deck, orange in color, and is listed as being worth approximately $1,300.

Police listed Cat Property LLC as the victim in this report and currently no arrests have been made or citations issued. The lawn mower has not been recovered. If you have information about this crime police ask that you contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
