Two arrested in St. George pursuit after traffic stop

At approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday St. George Police Officer Charles
was on routine patrol when he spotted a vehicle committing a traffic violation. Upon
attempting to stop the vehicle a short pursuit followed. The vehicle was located a short
time later abandoned in the 100 block of S. Jackson in St. George. The two
occupants fled on foot. As a precaution St. George Elementary School was notified and
school staff took security precautions when school began.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. a call was received that indicated a male and female subject
were exiting the river by the boat ramp in the 300 block of S. Lincoln in St. George
Those subjects were located by St. George Police Officer Trechter and placed
under arrest without further incident.

18-year old Parker Thompson of Herington, Kansas was arrested for Fleeing or attempting
to elude, Interference with Law Enforcement, Driving without a driver’s license, and No
proof of liability insurance. Thompson was transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail
and bond was set at $2500.

26-year old Ashley Loomis of Hope, Kansas was arrested on 2 Dickinson County warrants
for failure to appear. Loomis was transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail with a total
bond of $2600.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the
search as well as a Kansas Highway Patrol aircraft.
