A man facing child abuse charges in Geary County has entered a not guilty plea and trial has been set for May.
Cyjay Echon, who was a Fort Riley soldier, was taken into custody in Kansas City, Missouri this past May after Junction City Police were contacted by Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in reference to a three month old infant who had been transferred from the Geary Community Hospital. The child reportedly had severe head injuries and was on a ventilator at the time of Echon’s arrest.
Echon’s trial has been set for May second through fourth of next year.
