Police were alerted to a new scam that could be taking place in the area. This scam involves a faked vehicle vs. pedestrian or bicycle collision and was carried out by a subject who rolled her bicycle into a vehicle which was nearly stopped. After she rolled her bike to the vehicle she approached the driver along with two other men and demanded that the driver pay for damages stating that the driver collided with her (the two men also stated that they witnessed the driver strike the female while she was riding her bike). If you observe this scam or beleive that this scam has been committed against you and are currently being harrassed over the phone for payment, contact police and report the incident.
