According to Kansas Department of Labor numbers released Friday, the 2.6 is lower than September’s 2.9 and the three percent recorded in October of last year. Manhattan combined with the Junction City micropolitan area had a 3.2 percent rate, also lower than the month and year prior.Manhattan’s numbers for just Riley County is 2.3 percent–again the lowest in the last month or year.
Junction City and Geary County had a 5.5 percent rate in October, the same as September but lower than last year’s by more than a half percentage.  Junction City by itself was 5.2 percent.
