WAMEGO — Citing a love for local government and a passion for her community, Pottawatomie County Clerk and Election Official Nancy McCarter has filed for  reelection. McCarter, who has lived in the county for 42 years, has worked in the clerk’s office for 18 years and is currently in her second term as county clerk. McCarter ran unopposed in the last election and as of now, nobody has filed to run against her.

“I just encourage everyone to get out there and vote,” McCarter said. “The primary is on August 2nd, and the general election will be held on November 8th.”

McCarter added the deadline to register to vote in the primary election is July 12th, and then voter registration will be open again in September until early October.
