    RCPD BadgeOfficers with the Riley County Police Department responded along with other emergency crews to a vehicle collision near the intersection of 4th Street and Fort Riley Boulevard on Friday at approximately 11:55 a.m.

    Officers investigating this collision found that a 2013 Chevy Camaro driven by Robert Penn, 40, of Manhattan, was traveling west on Fort Riley Boulevard when it struck a 2007 Buick Lucerne driven by Alice Walker, 77, of Dwight. Walker was in the process of turning north onto 4th Street. After this initial collision, the Camaro then struck a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by Michael Rogel, 20, of Junction City, which in turn struck a 1996 Kenworth Cement Mixing Truck owned by Midwest Concrete in Manhattan and driven by Dale Gardner, 60, of Junction City.

    Riley County EMS transported Penn as well as Kathryn Culler, 54, of Junction City, who was a passenger in the Ford Fusion, to Via Christi for complaint of pain.

    Officers continue to investigate the collision at the time of this report. At this time no citations had been issued pending further investigation.


     

    Police in Riley County arrested Pantaleon Salas Rueda, 34, of Manhattan, while in the 2000 block of Vanesta Place on Friday at approximately 2:30 p.m. Salas Rueda was arrested on three warrants from Riley County, all for the offense of failure to appear. Original offenses listed on these warrants were theft, vehicle burglary, and motion to revoke diversion for the offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was held on a total bond of $29,000 and at the time of this report he was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.


     

    Bryce Williams, 34, of Leonardville, was arrested by police while at the Riley County Police Department on Friday at approximately 4:20 p.m. Williams was arrested on a warrant for probation violation from the Kansas Department of Corrections in Topeka. He was given “no bond” and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.


     

    Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a report of aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated sexual battery which is reported to have occurred on Saturday between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. in the city limits of Manhattan.

    Police were told of an incident that involved a 19-year-old female victim and a 20-year-old male suspect who was known to the victim.

    This incident involves inappropriate physical contact initiated by the intoxicated suspect while the victim was under the influence of alcohol. Officers continue to investigate this crime and have withheld some information due to the incident’s sensitive nature. No arrest had been made at the time of this report.
