    RCPD apprehends 3 men who fled Manhattan drug arrest

    Following an overnight search, Riley County Police apprehended three men who had previously fled arrest in Manhattan.

    The below press release was issued by the RCPD, regarding the incident.


     

    RCPDInvestigationOn March 8, at approximately 3:15 PM the Riley County Police Department conducted a joint investigation with the Geary County Sheriff’s Office and the Junction City Police Department into the illegal distribution of narcotics in the Manhattan and Riley County areas.

    This investigation led to two arrests in the 1200 block of Bertrand Street (North Alley) and police alerted the community to three additional men who fled the area and could have posed a danger to the community.

    In the very early morning hours of Wednesday March 9,  the three men who fled from police were apprehended in Topeka, Kansas after turning themselves in to the Topeka Capital Police.

    The previously unknown male was then identified.

    Donte Westmoreland, 23, of Stockton, California was arrested while in the 1200 block of Bertrand Street on the offenses of distribution of certain stimulants and distribution of a certain hallucinogenic. He was given a bond of $40,000.00 and at the time of this release was confined at the Riley County Jail.

    Dashaun Perkins, 21, of Stockton, California was arrested while in the 1200 block of Bertrand Street on the offenses of distribution of certain stimulants and distribution of a certain hallucinogenic. He was also given a bond of $40,000.00 and at the time of this release was confined at the Riley County Jail.

    Enrique Hinojosa, 20, of Stockton, California was arrested in Topeka, Kansas. He was Enrique Hinojosaarrested on the offenses of distribution of certain stimulants and distribution of a certain hallucinogenic. He was given a bond of $40,000.00 and at the time of this release was confined at the Riley County Jail.

    Victor Daniel Lara, 20, of Stockton, California was arrested in Topeka, Kansas. He was arrested on the offenses of distribution of certain stimulants and distribution of a certain hallucinogenic. He was given a bond of $40,000.00 and at the time of this release was

    confined at the Riley County Jail.

    Jose Jimenez III, 18, of Stockton, California was arrested in Topeka, Kansas. He was arrested on the offenses of distribution of certain stimulants and distribution of a certain hallucinogenic. He was also given a bond of $40,000.00 and at the time of this release was confined at the Riley County Jail.

    Law enforcement seized a total of 6.7 pounds of marijuana and 1,045 pills of ecstasy with the assistance of the Geary County Sheriff’s Office, the Junction City Police Department, and the Riley County Police Department K9 Unit.

    RCPD would like to thank these agencies as well as the Topeka Capital Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol for their assistance in this investigation and these arrests.
