Fire crews from Riley County, Leonardville, and Randolph were called to the area of 10399 Barton Road, just after noon on Wednesday.
A controlled burn of 100 acres of land was taking place when flames grew out of control.
Crews were working to contain the fire Wednesday afternoon.
