The Saint George Police Department along with deputies from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 200 block of Northern Heights Circle in Saint George Tuesday evening for a possible burglary in progress, according to a press release from the department.

The call came in shortly before 5:30 p.m. that a citizen reported seeing a white male lurking around the residence trying to gain access through different doors.

Upon arrival law enforcement surrounded the residence and found the back door to the residence open. Officers began a systematic search of the residence. While in the residence they located a male who does not reside at the residence. Upon clearing the rest of the residence items of a drug related nature were noted in plain view.

At 8:48 p.m. a search warrant was executed at the residence by the Saint George Police Department with the assistance of the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office. Located inside the residence was marijuana, methamphetamine, numerous items of drug-related paraphernalia, and other unknown substances that will be transported to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation for testing.

The male located in the residence was released without charges pending further investigation. The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing. If anyone has any information related to this case or any other crime please call the Saint George Police Department at 494-2556.
