    2016 candidate filing deadline is Wednesday

    The candidate filing deadline for the 2016 Primary Election in Riley County is Wednesday.

    The primary is on Aug. 2.

    The last day for those looking to register to vote for the primary is July 12. Voter registration closes 21 days prior to each election.

    The last day to register to vote for the general election on Nov. 8 is Oct. 18.
