    On May 1, 2016 at approximately 2:05 PM officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Dewuan Shorter, 21, of Manhattan on a warrant for the offenses of aggravated robbery (X2) and robbery. He was also arrested on the offenses of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery as well as use of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. He was given a bond of $15,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. Shorter was arrested while in the 900 block of Colorado Street in Manhattan, Kansas for these offenses which occurred in March of this year.

    An officer with the Riley County Police Department received minor injury in a physical altercation which led to an arrest. On April 29, 2016 at approximately 2:55 AM police arrested Casey Sexton, 22, of Manhattan for the offenses of criminal trespass, interference with law enforcement, and battery of a law enforcement officer. He was also arrested for the offense of possession of a substance in KSA 65-4113. Officers made contact with Sexton after he entered a vehicle that did not belong to him (nor did he have permission to be in). Officers located Sexton while on walking patrol in the 600 block of N. 12th Street when they noticed a male in a vehicle who appeared to have passed out. After he was confirmed to be trespassing he became combative. He was given a bond of $7,000.00 and at the time of this report he was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.

    Heber Navarrete-Tronco, 31, of Manhattan was arrested on the offense of failure to appear which was listed on a warrant with an original offense of criminal threat. He was given a bond of $6,000.00 and at the time of this report he was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest took place at the Riley County Police Department on April 29, 2016 at approximately 1:35 PM.

    Police are investigating a report of theft in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road in Manhattan which is likely to have occurred on March 11, 2016. Police listed Elisabeth Juliana, 55, of Manhattan as the victim after approximately $1,800.00 worth of items were removed from her home. These items included jewelry and a camera. Currently suspect(s) are unknown and police continue to investigate the matter. If you have information about this crime contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

    A report for the offense of theft was filed in the 1800 block of Fair Lane in Manhattan on April 30, 2016 at approximately 3:30 PM for an incident that occurred the night prior. Officers listed Weisbender Contracting as the victim when a 1995 black Bobcat trailer valued at approximately $6,000.00 was removed from their property. Currently suspect(s) are unknown and police are asking anyone with information to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

    RCPD filed a report for the offense of criminal damage to property in the 2300 block of Bellerive Circle after an unknown suspect(s) damaged a 2014 Dodge Ram truck with an object consistent with a knife. In total $2,615.00 worth of damage was created between approximately 10:00 PM on April 30, 2016 and 9:00 AM on May 1, 2016.     Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for the offense of rape in the city limits of Manhattan on May 1, 2016 for incidents that occurred between April 1, 2012 and July 4, 2014. This crime occurred between persons known to each other and police listed the victim in this case as a 29-year-old female (the suspect is listed as being a 33-year-old male). Due to the nature of this investigation no further information has been released.

    RCPD is currently seeking information on the whereabouts of a vehicle that was reported stolen on May 2, 2016 at approximately 1:40 AM. Officers are currently investigating the report of a stolen 1992 Honda Accord which was last seen in the 2600 block of Brockman Street. At the time of this report no further information was available to release as officers continue to investigate the matter.
