The Kansas City Royals picked up a big 7-3 win over the Yankees on Wednesday night with the help from Salvador Perez, Lorenzo Cain and Yordano Ventura.

Perez hit a three-run homer as the Royals burst to a 4-0 first-inning lead against Michael Pineda. After New York clawed back to 4-3, Lorenzo Cain hit a two-run single in the sixth to give KC some insurance. Kendrys Morales added a solo homer in the seventh.

Ventura (W 3-2) gave up three runs and six hits in six innings.
Its only the fourth win for Kansas City in the last 15 games, the Royals are 16-17 overall. Kansas City can salvage a split with a win Thursday night. Ian Kennedy gets the start and its a 6:05 p.m. first pitch from Yankee Stadium.
