    Royals slumping, lose 6-3 to Yankees

    The Royals continue to struggle as Kansas City began a four game series in New York against the Yankees on Monday night with a 6-3 loss.

    Royals starter Chris Young suffered the loss after he gave up five solo home runs in the first three innings. Former Royal Carlos Beltran hit two of the five home runs for the Yankees.

    The Royals have lost 10 of their last 13 games. Since an 8-2 start, Kansas City is 7-14 since and are currently 15-16 overall. The Yankees improved to 12-18 overall.

    Game two tonight with Kris Medlan (1-3, 6.85 ERA) makeing the start for Kansas City. Masahiro Tanaka starts for New York, he has not yielded more than two earned runs in any of his six starts this season.
