A roll of police tape (police line) lies on the ground outside a home being foreclosed on in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2009.

A Wamego native attending school at Pittsburg State University has died.

According to university president, Steve Scott – Ashly Erickson, 23, died unexpectedly May 6.

Scott said in a press release, “there are few things in life more difficult than losing a loved one, especially someone so young and full of life. I extend my deepest sympathies and offer condolences on behalf of the entire Pittsburg State University community.”

Erickson was a senior majoring in management and marketing, set to graduate from the university last weekend.

A moment of silence was held in her honor.

A cause of death has not been released.
