    RCPDReportOfficers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Matthew Schoettle, 26, of Junction City, Kansas on June 7, 2016 at approximately 2:40 PM. This arrest took place at the Riley County Police Department and caused Schoettle to be confined at the Riley County Jail at the time of this report on a bond of $5,000.00. He was arrested on the offenses of distribution or possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, distribution of marijuana, and possession of opiates, opium, or a narcotic drug.

    Law enforcement in Riley County made an arrest in connection with an unlawful sexual relations investigation that police first mentioned to the public on May 26, 2016. Zachary Burton, 38, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on June 7, 2016 at approximately 5:00 PM. He was arrested on the offenses of unlawful sexual relations between a teacher and student (X4). Burton was given a bond of $50,000.00 and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stemmed from a warrant which was a result of the investigation into the matter involving one victim over the age of 16. Further inquiries of this case should be directed to the Riley County Attorney’s Office.
