Via Christi Hospital was awarded accreditation recently from the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), an independent, accreditation organization recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It earned this distinction after the HFAP conducted an extensive and objective review of the quality and safety standards of Via Christi Hospital, a member of Ascension.

“Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan clearly demonstrates a commitment to quality patient care,” said Lawrence Haspel, DO, Chairman of the Bureau of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation for the HFAP. “We base our decision on federal standards, as well as recognized national standards for patient safety, quality improvement, and environmental safety. Via Christi met or exceeded the standards in every case.”

“We’re proud to achieve this prestigious distinction,” said Bob Copple, Senior Administrator of Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. “The HFAP accreditation is a testament the hard work, dedication and commitment of our staff, clinical leaders and care providers. These men and women continue to provide excellent patient care while always keeping safety in the forefront of everything they do. Receiving this accreditation promotes our goal to become a High Reliability Organization.”
