RCPD BadgeA police report was filed in the 900 block of Walnut Street in Ogden, Kansas yesterday August 18 at approximately 6:40 PM. This report is regarding an incident of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and battery for which an arrest was made. Michael Salada, 26, of Dwight, Kansas was arrested on the aforementioned offenses and given a bond of $7,000. At the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stemmed from an incident that involved a 19-year-old female after she was struck by Salada’s vehicle during an argument (there were no injuries listed). A necklace and wooden box were also damaged during the altercation.

Early this morning at approximately 2:20 AM police were contacted and met with a 19-year-old female who reported that she had been the victim of a sexual assault. A rape report was filed and is being investigated. At the time of this report no arrests had been made and a suspect was not named. Police were told that yesterday, August 18, at approximately 11:00 PM the female was approached by male of similar age in a home where several of her friends resided and shortly after meeting the male forced himself upon her. Due to the nature and ongoing status of this crime, occurring in the city limits of Manhattan, Kansas, no further information was released.
