Junction City Police are investigating a stabbing reported late Sunday night. At approximately 11:43 p.m., members of the Junction City Police Department and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the Budget Host Motel at 820 South Washington Street in reference to a disturbance where a subject had been stabbed.
Upon arrival contact was made with the victim, identified as Karlie Jones, 19, of Wichita, who reportedly received a single stab wound to the chest. After being treated by the EMT’s, Jones was transported to the Geary Community Hospital for further treatment.
During the investigation, a suspect was identified as Luis Caicedo-Mosquera, 22, of Grandview Plaza.
According to the JCPD news release issued by Lt. The suspect was located and arrested on the charge of attempted murder. Caicedo-Mosquera was detained at the Geary County Detention Center on a no bond status pending first appearance in the Geary County District Court.
