The Kansas State University Police Department is investigating an aggravated battery that involved an altercation between two students on the Manhattan campus, resulting in one student being stabbed.
As first reported by the K-State Collegian, at approximately 2:00 A.M. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, two Kansas State University students got into an altercation in their room on the sixth floor of Marlatt Hall. During the altercation, Freshman in Microbiology, Christopher Stutler, was injured with a knife.
The Kansas State University Police Department responded to the incident. The victim was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, was treated for a wound that was not life-threatening and was released.
The suspect, a Freshman in Biology named Justin Galichia, was taken into custody and released, and was charged with aggravated battery. The investigation continues and there is no ongoing threat to the Manhattan campus.
