    Manhattan Regional Airport welcomes first of larger aircraft

    Manhattan Regional Airport welcomed the arrival of new aircraft Friday morning.

    The plane, a Bombardier CRJ700, seats 65 people and will be used in the airport’s daily flights to and from Dallas. It was welcomed with a ceremonious water cannon salute.

    The biggest plane to be in service of Manhattan Regional Airport arrives Friday morning.

    It’s the biggest plane to be in service for the airport, which has tripled in size over the past five years. The $15.8 million expansion of the airport was paid for through grants from the Federal Aviation Administration and City of Manhattan funding.
