FILE - In this Oct. 8, 2016, file photo, Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder talks with his players before an NCAA college football game against Texas Tech in Manhattan, Kan. The Big 12’s oldest coach is about to meet the youngest. Kansas State’s Bill Snyder, 78, became just the seventh coach in FBS history to coach at least 300 games at one school earlier this season, and a win Saturday at Iowa State would give him 198 career victories, good for 25th all time. K-State earned a first-place vote in the Big 12 preseason media poll for the first time since 2012 on Thursday, although the Wildcats were ultimately picked to finish in third place behind Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The Sooners receieved 19 first-place votes, while OSU earned 12.
Texas follows K-State in the fourth place position in the poll. Kansas was picked at the bottom once again, although this year, it was not unanimously.
