    Vargas, Perez selected to All-Star game

    Royals LHP Jason Vargas and catcher Salvador Perez both were named to the 2017 All-Star Game in Miami on July 11.

    Vargas will be making his first All-Star Game appearance. Vargas is currently tied with Clayton Kershaw for most wins in Major League Baseball with 12.

    Perez will make his fifth straight All-Star appearance. In 2017, Perez is hitting .290 with 16 homers and 51 RBIs.

    Third baseman Mike Moustakas has been selected at one of five candidates from the American League for the All-Star Game Final Vote. Fans can cast their ballots for the Final Vote at MLB.com until 3 p.m. on Thursday.
