Royals fans took over social media Thursday afternoon in an effort to get Mike Moustakas to the All Star Game, and it worked. The hashtag #VoteMoose was trending nationally for most of the day, and as a result, Moose won the Final Vote, making him KC’s third All Star.

Third baseman Mike Moustakas received 15.8 votes to earn a spot on the American League roster for the All-Star game in Miami on Tuesday.

Moustakas also will appear in the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday. Moustakas will take the field with teammates Salvador Perez and Jason Vargas for the Mid-Summer Classic.

In the final vote, Moustakas finished ahead of Boston’s Xander Bogaerts, New York’s Didi Gregorius, Texas’ Elvis Andrus and Tampa Bay’s Logan Morrison in the American League Final Vote balloting.
