A Manhattan man arrested in July for aggravated burglary and assault had his preliminary hearing Friday.
Devon Davis, 28, was bound over on one count of aggravated burglary, assault and criminal threat, according to Pottawatomie County Attorney Sherri Schuck.
A count for attempted 2nd-degree murder was dismissed. His arraignment is set for Sept. 7 at 1:30 p.m. and remains in jail on a $250,000 bound.
On July 19, a news release from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office indicated it received a transferred 911 call from the Riley County Police Department in reference to a burglary in progress. The victim reported that a Davis had entered their residence and issued threats. Davis then left the residence driving a green four-door Ford car with the trunk tied down with a rope.
While deputies were meeting with the victim, an additional 911 call came in. The caller stated that they witnessed a male driving a car that matched the description and had pulled up in front of their neighbors residence. Davis entered the neighbors residence through a broken part of the garage door. Shortly after Davis was located inside the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
