Long time Riley County Commissioner Bob Newsome has died. A memorial service is set for Wednesday, December 27, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Manhattan.
Newsome also served as Agriculture Agent in Riley County from February, 1960 until June, 1966 – then he became the County Extension Director for Riley County from July, 1966 until May, 1979. Newsome then became the Northeast Area Extension Director and moved to an office at Kansas State University.
