A home in Junction City was lost to a fire late Sunday night.

The Junction City Fire Department told KMAN Monday morning crews were dispatched to 938 E. 4th Street trailer No. 8, for a report of a fully involved fire.

JCPD arrived first and saw heavy smoke coming from trailer and fire from one window. JCFD Crews arrived on scene and began firefighting operations to apply water from exterior into bedroom window. The fire was extinguished within a couple of minutes. JCPD had spoken to the occupant and they said the residence was occupied by two adults and five children for a total of seven persons living there.

All were accounted for and inside a neighbor’s home.

Property is loss estimated at $14,000. Origin of the fire was the bedroom and cause is under investigation.
