Authorities say a 21-year-old man died while trying to walk across Interstate 70 during the early morning hours Sunday.
The crash east of Manhattan forced the closure of I-70 for a couple hours after it happened shortly before 4 a.m.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says Matthew Bailey of Mayetta died after he was struck by an eastbound Jeep Wrangler driven by a 23-year-old Cyrus Renfrow of Greenwood, South Carolina.
Renfrow and his passenger were not hurt.
