Mold was discovered in more than a dozen dorm rooms in Ford Hall at Kansas State University Wednesday.
Maintenance crews will be going room-to-room inspecting every dorm room for the presence of mold. The mold that was found was reportedly inactive and not growing.
The inspections will start on the top floor and work down to the bottom. Maintenance workers will also be examining dorm air conditioning units and pipes.
If more mold is found, treatment will be dependent on whether the mold is active or not. They may need to repair pipe insulation or paint areas with mold resistant paint.
The process is expected to take several days. Residents are asked to ensure their furniture does not block access to their rooms.
