Kansas State used a fourth quarter rally on Saturday at Texas Tech to down the Lady Raiders, 66-62, at United Supermarkets Arena. Kansas State has won seven straight meetings in the series with Texas Tech. The Wildcats have won six straight games and seven of the last eight meetings in Lubbock.

K-State (12-6, 3-3 Big 12) trailed 51-43 with 8:18 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Wildcats then blitzed the Lady Raiders with an 18-3 run over the next seven minutes to pull in front by seven, 61-54, with 39 seconds to play. Kayla Goth scored eight points during the run, while Rachel Ranke tallied seven points.

K-State then sealed the game from the free throw line by going 5-of-6 in the final 30 seconds to capture the win.

The Wildcats were led by Peyton Williams with 18 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Goth added 10 points, nine assists, five rebounds and three steals and Ranke chipped in with 11 points and three rebounds.

In the second quarter, Williams took control of the game as the 2019 Katrina McClain Award candidate scored 13 of K-State’s 20 points in the frame. Williams scored 11 straight points to begin the quarter for the Wildcats and outscored the Lady Raiders by herself (11-4) during the stretch as K-State built a 26-15 lead with 4:52 remaining.

Williams would finish an offensive rebound with a layup at 3:24 of the second quarter to give K-State a 28-18 lead. Williams then dished a no-look pass to Kali Jones for a layup and Christianna Carr connected on a deep 3-pointer to send the Wildcats into halftime with a 33-24 lead.

Texas Tech (10-7, 1-5) came out of the locker room in the third quarter with a 15-2 run to pull in front, 39-35, with 5:17 remaining. Brittany Brewer tallied eight points, while Chrislynn Carr scored seven points. Brewer finished the game with 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Raiders.

The Lady Raiders would build a six-point lead twice, but the Wildcats cut the deficit to four points entering the fourth quarter, as Goth knocked down a jumper to bring K-State to within four, 45-41.

K-State finished the afternoon shooting 45.3 percent (24-of-53) from the field and 65.0 percent from the free throw line (13-of-20). Texas Tech, despite shooting 58.8 percent from the field in the third quarter, were held to a 38.5 percent effort (25-of-65). K-State outscored Texas Tech in the paint, 32-22.

Kansas State returns to Bramlage Coliseum on Wednesday, as the Wildcats host Oklahoma State at 7 p.m.
