Wish granted! Braums is building a location at Scenic and Anderson!

    — City of Manhattan (@cityofmhk) February 28, 2019

MANHATTAN — Ice cream lovers can rejoice knowing they’ll have a new option for dessert in Manhattan coming soon.

In a reply to a tweet on the City of Manhattan Twitter page Thursday, it was revealed that Oklahoma-based Braum’s is planning to build a new location in west Manhattan at the corner of Scenic Drive and Anderson Ave. No details have been provided as to when construction may begin. The city had started a tweet asking for feedback from followers on what they’d like to see come to Manhattan if “money were no object.”

The chain serves ice cream, frozen yogurt, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and breakfast items. Each store also includes a small grocery section called the “Fresh Market.” A source tells KMAN the chain has also explored expansion to Junction City. It’s not clear whether plans have been finalized there.

There are currently 27 Braum’s stores in Kansas, in addition to Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri. Manhattan would become the chain’s northernmost location.
