Kansas State senior Barry Brown, Jr., has been chosen as one of 20 seniors to participate in the 2019 Reese’s College All-Star Game, which is set for 3:30 p.m., CT on Friday, April 5 at U.S. Bank Stadium as part of the Final Four in Minneapolis. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
The annual game, which features 20 of the top senior players in NCAA Division I, consists of two teams of 10 players representing the East and West.
Brown will play on the West All-Stars coached by former NBA standout Jason Terry, along with Campbell’s Chris Clemons, Houston’s Corey Davis, Jr., and Galen Robinson, Jr., Buffalo’s Nick Perkins, Northern Kentucky’s Drew McDonald, Stanford’s Josh Sharma, Minnesota’s Jordan Murphy, Quinnipiac’s Cameron Young, and Temple’s Shizz Alston, Jr. They will play against the East All-Stars coached by Nate Robinson and includes Northeastern’s Vasa Pusica, Cornell’s Matt Morgan, Old Dominion’s B.J. Stith and Ahmad Caver, Fort Wayne’s John Konchar, Nebraska’s James Palmer, Jr., College of Charleston’s Jarrell Brantley, Georgetown’s Jessie Govan, Wofford’s Cameron Jackson and UNC Wilmington’s Devontae Cacok.
Brown is the first Wildcat to play in the All-Star game since Rodney McGruder in 2013.
The Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection, Brown led the Wildcats in nearly every statistical category in 2018-19, including scoring (14.6 ppg.), double-digit scoring games (28), 20-point games (seven), field goals made (184) and attempted (425), free throws made (88) and attempted (124) and steals (65). He connected on 43.3 percent (184-of-425) from the field, including 29.8 percent (42-of-141) from 3-point range, and shot 71 percent (88-of-124) from the free throw line.
