MANHATTAN — A day of giving is taking place Monday as the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation holds its seventh annual Grow Green Match Day fundraiser

The donations made through the foundation to 57 participating nonprofit endowed funds will receive a 50% match that can be used for their most crucial needs. The fundraiser runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Colony Square Office Complex Atrium located at 555 Poyntz Avenue. Donations can also be made online all day through midnight. Participants can go to the foundation’s website: growgreenmanhattan.com. The homepage will become the giving form where participants can indicate how much they’d like to give to each fund.

The foundation is matching donations from $25 to $1,000.

During last year’s Match Day, 55 funds received more than $528,000 from nearly 1,000 donors. Local business leader and former Meadowlark Hills board member Phil Howe provided more than $240,000 in matching funds, bringing the total raised to more than $768,000.
