    Update: RCPD identifies gunman following Tuesday incident in Ogden

    OGDEN — Riley County Police received a report of shots fired Tuesday morning which led to a brief lockdown of Ogden Elementary.

    Public Information Officer Rachel Pate says officers received a report of a man walking down the street with a gun in the 300 block of 11th Street shortly before 9 a.m.At the police department’s request schools in the vicinity were placed on secure campus. Officers apprehended 40-year-old Justin Bauer of Ogden at around 9:10 a.m. without incident. There were no injuries.

    Bauer is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon. He’s being held in Riley County Jail on a $13,000 bond.

    10 a.m. Tuesday

    Riley County Police requested Ogden Elementary place its campus in lock-out while responding to calls of an armed man acting erratically in the city Tuesday morning.

    According to RCPD dispatch, the unidentified armed man was shirtless and in the vicinity of the school when they received the report just before 9 a.m. The man eventually began heading toward the Dollar General in Ogden before being taken into custody in the 200 block of Riley Avenue.

    The man is believed to have been suffering from some form of delirium and EMS was called to the scene for treatment.

    No one was injured and there is no danger to the community. RCPD asks that residents avoid the area while they continue their investigation.
