FORT RILEY – A Memorial Day ceremony honored fallen soldiers Monday at the Fort Riley post cemetery.
The event was standing room only while Senator Pat Roberts addressed the crowd, sharing a family story of his father who served in the Marines.
Roberts took time to address the sacrifices made by service men and women.
Chaplain Colonel Shmuel Felzenberg prayed to close the ceremony.
The ceremony included a wreath laying, 21 gun salute and the Taps band who played “God Bless America.”
