    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. –

    Officers filed a report for burglary, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property in the 1400 block of Normandy Place in Manhattan on November 12, 2019, at approximately 1:15 PM. Officers listed a 31-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a known male suspect stole copper pipe and gained access to storage units in the area, causing damage. Ryan Calmes, 30, of Manhattan was arrested in connection in the 700 block of North Juliette. Calmes was arrested on offenses of aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and criminal damage to property. Calmes was issued a total bond of $50,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
