MANHATTAN, KAN. –
Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 1800 block of Cassell Road in Manhattan on December 17, 2019 at approximately 9:00 PM. Officers listed a 29-year-old male and a 34-year-old male as the victims when it was reported a 36-year-old male brandished a gun during an argument. Jason Melton, 36, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on an offense of aggravated assault. Melton was issued a total bond of $5,000.00. Melton was not confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for aggravated intimidation of a victim in the 900 block of Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on December 17, 2019 at approximately 7:40 AM. Officers listed a 14-year-old female as the victim when she reported a known 15-year-old male suspect intimidated her about a criminal case.
Officers filed a report for theft in the 400 block of Timberwick Pl. in Manhattan on December 17, 2019 at approximately 10:25 AM. Officers listed a 84-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect scammed him out of money using a computer scam. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $19,500.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for aggravated burglary in the 600 block of Laramie St. in Manhattan on December 17, 2019 at approximately 2:20 PM. Officers listed A 28-year-old female and a 34-year-old female as the victims when it was reported a known male suspect took a pair of boots from the victim’s residence. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $35.00.
Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Richards Drive and Fort Riley Boulevard on December 17, 2019 at approximately 9:05 AM. When officers arrived on scene, they found a Lincoln Aviator driven by Becky Bleue, 44, of Manhattan had crashed with a Buick Regal driven by Monica Anderson, 70, of Manhattan. Anderson was transported to Via Christi for treatment of her injuries.
